Non-Surgical Skin Tightening with Attiva RF Treatment

Consultations offered at our two convenient locations in Los Angeles and Lancaster, CA or by virtual appointment.

Attiva (ATTIVA®) is an innovative, minimally invasive treatment that uses radiofrequency (RF) energy to improve loose skin and overall skin quality without surgery. By gently heating the deeper layers of tissue, this treatment stimulates collagen production, which can lead to gradual skin tightening over time. Results vary from patient to patient. (1)

Dr. Sean Satey is proud to offer Attiva at his office as a minimally invasive radiofrequency-based treatment for improving skin laxity. Dr. Satey is an internationally recognized fellowship-trained cosmetic surgeon with more than a decade of experience helping patients achieve their aesthetic goals. As the current President of the California Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, patients can feel confident they are receiving care from an experienced, fellowship-trained cosmetic surgeon.

About Non-Surgical Skin Tightening with Attiva RF Treatment

Attiva works by delivering controlled heat beneath the skin using radiofrequency energy (also known as Subdermal Induced Heat (S.I.H.) technology). This process stimulates collagen and elastin production, which are important for skin firmness and elasticity. As we age, these naturally decrease, leading to loose skin and wrinkles.

The Attiva device is one of the most advanced RF treatments available on the market today. Its system features technology such as:

  • Double Temperature Control to cool your skin
  • External thermo control cameras to monitor your skin’s temperature
  • RF energy-emitting probe design (2)

Dr. Satey is the President of the California Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, an esteemed position that establishes him as a leading authority in his field. Outside of offering his patients cutting-edge, minimally invasive treatments for skin laxity like Attiva, Dr. Satey is 1 of 6 surgical educators for VASER. Surgical educators train other professionals to use the VASER machinery so that they can implement it in their own practice. VASER is often considered the gold standard for liposuction—its technology has been carefully refined over the years to offer more precision, a less laborious and invasive procedure, ultimate fat survival rates for fat transfers, and mild skin tightening.

Candidates

Radiofrequency treatments like Attiva are suitable for most skin types. (3) If you are looking to improve mild to moderate loose skin without surgery, Attiva is likely a good fit for you. In any case, you should also be in good general health and have realistic expectations for the achievable results. Patients with more significant degrees of loose skin may be recommended for surgical skin removal. Most patients who are good candidates for Attiva are noticing earlier signs of skin aging, rather than advanced sagging, such as that which can occur after massive weight loss with GLP-1s. This treatment works best for early skin laxity. Patients with significant excess skin may be better candidates for surgical procedures.

Dr. Satey does not recommend this treatment if you are pregnant, have a fever, or have an active skin infection. (2) Dr. Satey will assess your candidacy during your consultation.

Personal Consultation

Before your Attiva treatment, you will attend a personal consultation. During this meeting, Dr. Satey will explain what Attiva is, ask about your medical history, listen to your concerns, discuss your goals, and examine your skin. He will use this information to craft a one-of-a-kind treatment, just for you.

If you are ready to schedule your consultation, please contact us online or call us at (424) 500-3320.

Preparation

Dr. Satey may give you a short set of directions to help you prepare, which may instruct you to:

  • Discontinue using any medications or supplements that contain blood-thinning or antiplatelet properties.
  • Prepare time away from professional and personal responsibilities and commitments.
  • Arrange a ride home from your procedure.
  • Pick up any medications you may need as you recover.
  • Cease any alcohol or nicotine consumption leading up to your appointment.

Procedure

On the day of your treatment, a member of our team will lead you to a private treatment room where you will meet with Dr. Satey to review the details of your treatment. After your skin is cleansed, you will receive a local anesthetic that will keep you comfortable throughout the process.

Dr. Satey will place a small incision in the treatment area and insert the Attiva probe. The probe will emit RF energy directly into your tissues to heat them, stimulating collagen production and gradual tightening of the skin. As this occurs, the Attiva device will also keep your skin at a safe, comfortable temperature using its Double Temperature Control technology.

Dr. Satey will continue administering the RF energy to your skin and soft tissues until he has addressed the entire treatment area.

Recovery

After undergoing non-surgical skin tightening with Attiva, you can expect some swelling, bruising, and tenderness. These effects generally improve with time and are usually mild.

You may return to your routine on the same day as your treatment or the day after, depending on the extent of your treatment and how you feel. However, Dr. Satey may advise against engaging in any physically demanding or laborious activities until your skin is completely healed.

Results

Individual results vary. A consultation is required to determine if this treatment is appropriate for you.

While some patients may notice early changes, results continue to develop gradually over several months as your body produces new collagen. Patients may notice smoother, firmer-appearing skin and subtle improvement in contour. The degree of improvement varies depending on your baseline skin quality, degree of laxity, and the area treated. This treatment does not remove excess skin and is not a substitute for surgical procedures when significant skin laxity is present.

The results of Attiva treatment are generally long-lasting, with improvements that may persist for up to approximately 18–20 months, depending on individual factors and natural aging. To help maintain results, we recommend staying well hydrated and following a consistent, high-quality skincare routine.

During your consultation, Dr. Satey will discuss your recovery with you so you understand what to expect and how to care for your skin.

How long will my Attiva skin tightening results last?

Results may last up to approximately 18–20 months, depending on individual factors and natural aging. It is important to keep in mind that the skin will continue to age normally over time.

Can Attiva treat several areas of the body in one treatment session?
